Music Video Analysis - 'Chandelier' by Sia

Sia Furler is an Australian singer and songwriter. She has collaborated with many artists such as David Guetta and Flo Rida who are very popular mainstream artists. Sia became well known through these artists featuring her in their songs. In all of Sia's songs that have hit the charts she has not appeared in the music videos for the songs. Most of her music videos will feature other people; such as this song 'Chandelier' and 'Titanium'  who both feature young children. Either Sia herself does not want to be show in her videos or her record label do it purposely. This is similar to Ed Sheeran's music videos because his record label do not put him in most of his music videos because he is not amazingly attractive, which stereotypically pop stars tend to be.

NARRATIVE:
This music video is both narrative and performance based as the girl in the video is showing a story through her dancing. The girl in the video puts so much emotion in to her dance routine which reflects the negative vibe of the song.
